The Infection Prevention Control department of St. Mary's Hospital is committed to ensuring good quality practices in all levels of patient care. This includes ensuring availability of hand hygiene facilities, proper biomedical waste disposal, prevention of sharp injuries and health care associated infections. Daily regular rounds, need based training and vaccination of staff members are also carried out by the Infection Control Team. The judicious and responsible use of antibiotics and all other stewardship activities also come under the broad umbrella of infection control.
