Hi- Tech Operation Theatre Suites @ St. Mary's Hospital Thodupuzha

     St Marys Hospital, Thodupuzha, A prodigy in Healthcare facilities with a healing touch and compassion is now equipped with most modern Operation Theaters and Surgical Care Complex.

         The fully equipped Hi- Tech Theatres are designed in adherence to the latest NABH guidelines and also meeting the standards of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). The Laminar flow air systems achieved through the HEPA filters having filtration efficiency of 99.99% for 0.3 micron particle size increases the safety of patients undergoing deep wound surgery and help preventing perioperative infections. The theaters are AV integrated (Telemedicine).

       The Five Theaters focusing on General Surgery, Laparoscopy, Minimally Invasive Surgery, Orthopaedics, Neurosurgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery are equipped with hermetically sealed sliding doors which ensure the maximum air sterility. The floors and walls of the theaters are installed with vinyl for better infection control which conforms to the requirements of International standards BS EN 649:1997. The Surgeons pendant is imported from Draeger, Germany for better flow and workplace management. The Hi -Tech Surgical Lights and Anesthesia Machines adds to the lineup of the equipment procured.

      As part of the Building Management System, Temperature logs from the theaters are saved in the cloud and are used to instantly monitor, analyze and control the theater environment and Variable Frequency Drives for AC units will ensure least energy is consumed for running the Surgical Complex. The Healthcare facility now have a Central Sterilization Department and 3 Intensive Care Units including one dedicated Positive pressure ICU for Replacement , Transplant and CVTS surgery to support the Surgical Unit, for better infection control.

          The OT complex construction and commissioning was completed by leading Healthcare Facility construction specialists STAT Consultants, which gives services globally.

     The theater complex, now fully functional has begun contributing to the quality care offered by St. Mary's hospital.
